Bare are the trees in winter Skeletons with blankets of snow Breaking in the ice Crying till it goes There was a time they were full Green in their dignity and pride Bodies for their frames That now they cannot hide But you could say there’s beauty in dying A certain kind of grace in death The passionate fire of harvest The smell of nostalgia in its breath I gave into your love Melting as a candle holds a flame How I made you warm As you watch me fade I am like the trees in autumn My value is in what I hold Ephemeral they fall away And again in the winter I’m exposed

A Retelling 02:47
I am who you say I am Who that is I dare not put to words You give me smoke till I gag Dissolve into your haze till I’m a blur Then I am alone and filled with rage A wildfire that smothers me to death The crackling echoes your name Who are you to get inside my head? Who are you? And when at last I go to leave The wildfire is drowning from the rain Wash away myself so I can breathe That is how I know I’m not just what you say

Disappointment’s a bitter taste Never gone Kissing dreams goodbye They go on and on, on and on They go on and on I will try, I will try Again tomorrow I will try, I will try Again tomorrow

I am more than any one thing More than the sum of these parts See all the good in my heart I will love all that I was All that I am All that I will become And love all that I was All that I am All that I will become And We are more than any one thing More than the sum of these parts See all the good in our hearts We will love all that we were All that we are All that we will become And love all that we were All that we are All that we will become And You are more than any one thing More than the sum of these parts See all the good in your heart You will love all that you were All that you are All that you will become And love all that you were All that you are All that you will become I will love all that you were All that you are All that you will become Love all that you were All that you are All that you will become And

Footprints 02:49
Footprints through the snow Tell us where we’ve been But they cannot tell you The ways we move within The weather’s getting cold Bundle in your coats Cover up your heads with hats And bring your gloves in tow Yeah winter is here The first snow of the year We go out to walk and talk Our hearts grow warm and near Everything is white Glimmers in the light Could I ever walk upon A thing so pure and bright? Look forward and see All that it could be And when I walk behind I find I’ve shared a part of me Footprints through the snow Tell us where we’ve been But they cannot tell you The ways we move within

about

"Between Autumn and Winter" is a series of musical vignettes that collectively tell a larger story. As such, it is highly recommended that you listen from start to finish the first time through.

Despite what the EP's name implies, the over-arching narrative is relatable to times beyond the literal autumn and winter. Capturing themes such as transition, loss, identity, hope, and more, the arc within these 18 minutes is a dynamic journey that invites self-reflection and, ultimately, self-love.

Purchases through May 12, 2021 will directly benefit Walden's Puddle, the only professionally staffed wildlife rehabilitation and education facility in Middle Tennessee.
